Oreste started making pies more than a decade ago in Chicago, primarily for special occasions and celebrations. After living in South Africa for five years, we decided to open our first retail outlet. Our original shop was Empanada Mama and The Pie Man, located in East Lakeview, Chicago. After doing business for about three years, we completely outgrew the space and decided to buy the House of Pies in Alanson, which later evolved into the Sweet and Savory Pie Company. Now, as part of the Sweet and Savory Pie Company in Petoskey, we continue our tradition of crafting delicious pies.
Our food philosophy centers around our passion for using quality ingredients and delivering the best customer service—always! We also have an undeniable love for a good crust. Nothing compares to the anticipation of the first bite of a freshly baked pie with a fantastic butter crust and mouthwatering filling. That’s why our pastry is made in-house, perfected over years of trial and error, ensuring every sweet savory pie meets our high standards.
